Section 11-47-115 Regulation of operation of street railroad company over tracks of another.
Any street railroad company operating its railroad by steam, electric, or other power shall
have the right and may be required by the council or other governing body of any town or city
of this state to operate its cars over the tracks of any other street railroad company in
whole or in part in said city or town under such rules and regulations as may be prescribed
by ordinance, upon the payment by the company so using the tracks of another of just compensation
for the use thereof, and the council or other governing body of said city or town shall pass
such ordinances as may be necessary to carry this provision into effect. (Code 1907, §1267;

Section 11-49-3 Railroads and public utilities using streets to be required to keep streets
in repair, etc. Street and other railroad companies shall be required to keep their tracks
in repair, using such rails as may be prescribed, and shall maintain and keep in repair the
streets between their rails and for 18 inches on each side in such manner as the council or
other governing body may prescribe. Any public utility using the streets of the city or town

Section 37-11A-1 Execution and text of compact. The Governor, on behalf of this state, shall
execute a compact, in substantially the following form, with the State of Mississippi, and
the Legislature approves and ratifies the compact in the form substantially as follows: Northeast

Section 45-13-120 Compensation; election; oath and bond; office space, equipment; chief clerk;
powers and duties; issuance of licenses; disposition of funds. (a)(1) Effective October 1,

Section 37-2-84 Abandonment and discontinuance of grade crossings. (a) The Department of Transportation
is given authority and power to abandon and discontinue any portion of a state highway, or
street on a state highway route with the approval of the city council or governing body of
any municipality, crossing the tracks or right-of-way of any railroad or street railway within
