Section 44-2-10 Text of compact. The Interstate Compact for Juveniles is enacted into law and entered into with all jurisdictions mutually adopting the compact in the form substantially as follows: THE INTERSTATE COMPACT FOR JUVENILES Article I. Purpose. The compacting states to this interstate compact recognize that each state is responsible for the proper supervision or return of juveniles, delinquents and status offenders who are on probation or parole and who have absconded, escaped or run away from supervision and control and in so doing have endangered their own safety and the safety of others. The compacting states also recognize that each state is responsible for the safe return of juveniles who have run away from home and in doing so have left their state of residence. Section 11-65-10 Powers and duties of commission. When authorized by one or more elections as provided in Section 11-65-4, a commission shall have the powers and duties necessary to license, regulate, and supervise horse racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon and greyhound racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon within the commission municipal jurisdiction, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the powers and duties hereinafter set forth in this section or in other sections of this chapter. Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes. After the current expense budgets have been adopted and before the beginning of the fiscal year, the head of each department, office, and agency shall submit to the mayor in such form as the mayor shall prescribe a work program which shall show the requested allotments of the appropriations for such department, office, or agency for the entire fiscal year at least monthly or as the mayor may direct. (a) The Office of Indigent Defense Services is established to carry out the administrative duties relating to the provision of indigent defense services. Before an appropriation for any purpose to any department, board, bureau, commission, agency, office or institution of the state shall become available, there shall be submitted to the Department of Finance, not less than 20 days before the expiration of the last period for which an allotment has been or shall have been made, a requisition for an allotment of the amount estimated to be necessary to carry on its work during the period for which allotments are made.
