Section 45-37-121.01 Personnel board - Extent of authority. In and for each separate county of the State of Alabama which has a population of 400,000 or more people according to the last or any future federal census, there shall be a personnel board for the government and control by rules and regulations and practices hereinafter set out or authorized of all employees and appointees holding positions in the classified service of such counties and the municipalities therein whose population according to the last federal census was 5,000 or more and the county board of health, and such personnel board is vested with such power, authority, and jurisdiction. Section 45-37A-330 Ad valorem tax authorized. (a) Pursuant to subsection (f) of Amendment 373 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Section 217 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended, the city governing body of the City of Midfield in Jefferson County may levy, in addition to any other tax, an ad valorem tax in the amount of 14 mills on each dollar of taxable property in the city. Section 45-4-70 Expense allowances. (a) In addition to any and all other compensation or allowances heretofore provided by law, the chairman of the county governing body of Bibb County shall receive an additional expense allowance of two hundred dollars ($200) per month payable from the county treasury.
