Section 11-62-1 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this chapter, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) AUTHORITY. Any public corporation organized pursuant to this chapter. (2) AUTHORIZED PURPOSE OBLIGATION. The term includes either of the following: a. Any lease, note, installment sale contract, or any other obligation of a user, whether general or special, which was entered into, made, assumed, or otherwise incurred by the user, in whole or in part, for the purpose of financing the acquisition or ownership of one or more facilities, for the purpose of obtaining funds with which to operate one or more facilities or for any combination of those purposes. b. Section 16-65-6 Bonds generally. (a) Issuance of bonds. The authority is authorized and empowered to issue its bonds from time to time for the purpose of making equipment loans to finance equipment costs incurred or to be incurred by educational institutions. Such bonds may be in such aggregate principal amount as the board of directors shall determine to be necessary to pay the equipment costs included in such financing. Section 25-1-40 Electronic access to wage reports. (a) For purposes of this section, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCY. Any person, entity, or agency which, for monetary fees, dues, or on a cooperative nonprofit basis, regularly engages in whole or in part in the practice of assembling or evaluating consumer credit information or other information on consumers for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports to third parties, and which uses any means or facility of interstate commerce for the purpose of preparing or furnishing consumer reports. Section 41-23-193 Creations; functions; fee. (a) The Alabama Public Transportation Trust Fund is created in the State Treasury for the distribution of designated funds appropriated by the Legislature or collected from grants or other sources for the purpose of increasing public transportation options across the State of Alabama. Section 45-49-151.14 Tax due on pari-mutuel pools; distribution of contributions; capital improvement fund. (a) Every licensee conducting race meetings pursuant to this subpart shall pay to the racing commission for its use, a tax on the total contributions to all pari-mutuel pools conducted or made on a racetrack licensed under this subpart in an amount equal to eight percent until April 17, 1992, and seven percent thereafter. Except as otherwise provided in this subpart, the commission of a licensee on a pari-mutuel pool shall not exceed 19 percent of the amount contributed to the pari-mutuel pool, including the tax provided in this section.
