Section 34-15-13 Safe depository for valuable articles - Conditional liability. Such hotel
as shall maintain a safe depository and display notice as is required by Section 34-15-12
shall, in no event and under no circumstances or conditions, be liable in any amount for any
loss, damage, or destruction of the valuables of a guest by theft, burglary, fire, or by any
other cause whatsoever, whether or not of a nature enumerated above, if the valuables shall
not have been left with the hotel, its clerk or agent for deposit in the safe depository.
Whenever the phrase "loss, damage, or destruction by theft or otherwise" is used
in this chapter, it shall include any loss, damage, or destruction of the valuables, baggage,
or property of a guest, as the case may be, by theft, burglary, fire, or by any other cause

(a) Persons required to give bond. Any person to whom public or military property is issued
at any time, or to whom any public money is paid or who disburses any such funds, may be required

Section 45-10-180.01 County roads - Permit for certain activities; fines and liability. (a)
In Cherokee County, any person or entity engaged in construction, excavation, or similar activity
resulting in the cutting across or going under a county road or county right-of-way shall
obtain a permit from the county commission. The issuance of the permit by the county commission
shall be conditioned on the person or entity posting a bond in an amount to be set by the
county commission sufficient to cover the costs of the repair of any damage to the county
road or county right-of-way from the activity. The county commission may set a reasonable
fee not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) for the issuance of a permit pursuant to this

Section 37-3-23 Bills of lading. Every common carrier by motor vehicle subject to the provisions
of this chapter receiving property for transportation originating and terminating in this
state shall issue to the shipper a receipt or bill of lading therefor and shall be liable
