Section 35-4-121 Definitions. In this division: (1) "Document" means information
that is: a. Inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium
and is retrievable in perceivable form. b. Eligible to be recorded in the land records maintained
by the judge of probate. (2) "Electronic" means relating to technology having electrical,
digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar capabilities. (3) "Electronic
document" means a document that is received by the judge of probate in an electronic
form. (4) "Electronic signature" means an electronic sound, symbol, or process attached
to or logically associated with a document and executed or adopted by a person with the intent
to sign the document. (5) "Person" means an individual, corporation, business trust,
estate, trust, partnership, limited liability company, association, joint venture, public

Section 38-4-14 Limitations on use of public assistance benefits. (a) For the purposes of this
section, the term public assistance benefits means money or property provided directly or
indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the state, or any
political subdivision thereof, and administered by the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
(b)(1) A recipient of public assistance benefits may not use any portion of the benefits for
the purchase of any alcoholic beverage, tobacco product, or lottery ticket. Any person who
violates this subsection shall reimburse the Department of Human Resources for the purchase
and shall be subject to the following sanctions: a. Upon the first violation, the person shall
be disqualified from receiving public assistance benefits by means of direct cash payment

Section 31-13-29 Limitations on public records transactions conducted by unauthorized aliens.
(a) For the purposes of this section, public records transaction means applying for or renewing
a motor vehicle license plate, applying for or renewing a driver's license or nondriver identification
card, applying for or renewing a business license, applying for or renewing a commercial license,
or applying for or renewing a professional license. Public records transaction does not include
applying for a marriage license, any transaction relating to housing under Title 24 or the

Section 22-9A-22 Copies or data from the system of vital statistics. (a) In accordance with
Section 22-9A-21 and any rules adopted pursuant to that section: (1) The State Registrar and
other custodians of vital records authorized by the State Registrar to issue certified copies
shall upon receipt of an application issue a certified copy of vital records in his or her

Section 13A-8-114 Phishing. (a) A person commits the crime of phishing if the person by means
of an Internet web page, electronic mail message, or otherwise using the Internet, solicits,
requests, or takes any action to induce another person to provide identifying information
by representing that the person, either directly or by implication, is a business, without
the authority or approval of the business. (b) Any person violating this section, upon conviction,
shall be guilty of a Class C felony. Multiple violations resulting from a single action or
act shall constitute one violation for the purposes of this section. (c) The following persons
