Section 7-4A-103 Payment order - Definitions. (a) In this article: (1) "Payment order"
means an instruction of a sender to a receiving bank, transmitted orally, electronically,
or in writing, to pay, or to cause another bank to pay, a fixed or determinable amount of
money to a beneficiary if: (i) the instruction does not state a condition to payment to the
beneficiary other than time of payment, (ii) the receiving bank is to be reimbursed by debiting
an account of, or otherwise receiving payment from, the sender, and (iii) the instruction
is transmitted by the sender directly to the receiving bank or to an agent, funds-transfer
system, or communication system for transmittal to the receiving bank. (2) "Beneficiary"
means the person to be paid by the beneficiary's bank. (3) "Beneficiary's bank"

Section 5-24-1 Definitions. In this chapter: (1) ACCOUNT means a contract of deposit between
a depositor and a financial institution, and includes a checking account, savings account,

Section 45-37-123.01 Definitions. For the purposes of this part, the following terms shall
have the following meanings: (1) ACT. The act adding this part, to be called the General Retirement
System for Employees of Jefferson County Act. (2) ACTIVE MEMBER. An individual who currently

Section 7-5-114 Assignment of proceeds. (a) In this section, "proceeds of a letter of
credit" means the cash, check, accepted draft, or other item of value paid or delivered
upon honor or giving of value by the issuer or any nominated person under the letter of credit.
The term does not include a beneficiary's drawing rights or documents presented by the beneficiary.
