Section 40-23-210 Definitions. As used in this article, the term "covered items" means the following: (1) Articles of clothing with a sales price of one hundred dollars ($100), or less, per article of clothing. a. "Clothing" means all human wearing apparel suitable for general use including sandals, shoes, and sneakers. Clothing shall not include: 1. Belt buckles sold separately. 2. Costume masks sold separately. 3. Patches and emblems sold separately. 4. Sewing equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, knitting needles, patterns, pins, scissors, sewing machines, sewing needles, tape measures, and thimbles. 5. Sewing materials that become part of "clothing" including, but not limited to, buttons, fabric, lace, thread, yarn, and zippers. b. (a) The Revenue Commissioner of Choctaw County shall perform all duties relative to the assessment and collection of taxes on motor vehicles, motor vehicle titles, and nonmotorized vehicles in Choctaw County which the judge of probate is required under the law to perform. Section 9-17-175 Alabama Propane Education and Research Council. (a) The qualified industry organization shall select members of the council from nominations made by retail marketers and wholesalers operating in the State of Alabama. Vacancies in the unfinished terms of council members shall be filled in the same manner as were the original appointments. (b) The council shall consist of nine members, with six members representing retail marketers, two members representing wholesalers, and one public member. Section 11-40-10.2 Rehiring of certain law enforcement officers retired from state or local law enforcement agency. (a) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a Class 5, Class 6, Class 7, or Class 8 municipality may rehire a retired law enforcement officer to perform duties as needed if the mayor, or town or city council, as appropriate, declares all of the following: (1) There is a critical personnel shortage such that the rehiring is necessary to provide public safety services. Section 22-30D-6 Registration; fees. (a) No later than May 24, 2001, each owner or operator of a drycleaning facility located in this state who shall notify the department that it elects to be covered by this chapter shall also register each drycleaning facility owned or operated in the state by such owner or operator with the department on forms provided by the department. Each owner or operator electing to register pursuant to this subsection shall submit its registration forms to the Department of Revenue and the department.
