Section 45-36-245 Levy of tax; exemptions; payment; recordkeeping; disposition of funds. (a)
In addition to all other taxes imposed by law, the Jackson County Commission is hereby authorized
to levy a privilege or license tax in an amount not to exceed two percent against every person
engaging in Jackson County in the business of renting or furnishing any room or rooms, lodging,
or accommodations, to any transient in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist court, or any other
place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished to transients for
a consideration. The tax shall be levied upon the charge for such rooms, lodgings, or accommodations,
including the charge for use of rental of personal property and services furnished in such
room or rooms. (b) There are exempted from the tax authorized by this section and from the

Section 11-99A-41 Use of improvements by persons not assessed. (a) For use of improvements
constructed, acquired, or installed by the district with proceeds of assessments, the board
may require the payment of a connection, tap fee, or increased tap fee by persons owning property
not assessed to pay for improvements, even though the utilities may be provided by some public
person or utility other than the board. The tap fee shall be reasonable and may not exceed
150 percent of the assessment that otherwise would have been paid by the person. (b) If the
owner of any property that fronts on any street built with proceeds of an assessment, whether
or not within the district, wishes to connect a driveway or street or otherwise to have access
to the street, the owner shall obtain consent of the board to connect to the street, to any

The amount of compensation to which the owners and other parties interested therein are entitled
must not be reduced or diminished because of any incidental benefits which may accrue to them

which the easement is to be acquired will be appropriated; provided, that in the condemnation

Section 28-3-207 Exemption of sales to certificated or licensed air carrier with hub operation
in state from this article. There is hereby exempted from the provisions of this article and
from the computation of the amount of tax levied, assessed or payable under such article,
the sale of all spirituous or vinous liquors sold by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control
Board to a certificated or licensed air carrier with a hub operation within this state, for
