Section 11-44D-4 Mayor-council form of government. If a majority of the qualified electors voting in the referendum provided herein choose a mayor-council form of government, the following provisions of this chapter shall be applicable: (1) The municipality shall thereafter and as provided in this chapter be governed by a mayor elected at-large and a five-member council elected from single-member districts, which municipality shall have the same powers and duties as herein enumerated and as other mayor-council municipalities organized under Chapter 43, Title 11, and any other powers and duties not inconsistent with this chapter which may be now or hereafter granted to such municipality. Section 45-48-142.23 Fire protection service fee - Referendum. (a) After the county commission establishes a fire district, the qualified electors of that district may file a petition, signed by at least five percent of the qualified electors in the fire district who voted in the last general election, with the office of the judge of probate who shall then order a referendum to be held in the fire district on the question of establishing a fire protection service fee for the fire district. Section 45-48-142.27 shall apply to all elections provided by this subpart. Section 9-8A-6 Application for cost-share grant. In order to qualify for a cost-share grant, an eligible person shall file, accompanied by the applications specified in this section, a conservation plan approved by the soil and water conservation district in which the eligible person's eligible land is located. Cost-share grants shall be available only with respect to those soil and water conservation practices determined to be needed by the soil conservation district to reduce erosion, improve agricultural water quality and improve forest resources in the district.
