Section 9-17-9 State Oil and Gas Supervisor. The State Geologist shall be, ex officio, the State Oil and Gas Supervisor and shall perform all of the duties of and is hereby vested with all the powers imposed upon and vested in the State Oil and Gas Supervisor under and by the terms and provisions of this article. The State Oil and Gas Supervisor shall be charged with the duty of enforcing this article and all rules, regulations and orders promulgated by the board. The State Oil and Gas Supervisor shall be, ex officio, secretary of the board and shall keep all minutes and records of the board. He shall, as secretary, give bond in such sum as the board may direct with corporate surety to be approved by the board, conditioned that he will well and truly account for any funds coming into his hands. Section 40-17-220 Lubricating oil excise tax; exemptions. (a) There is hereby levied in addition to all other taxes of every kind now imposed by law an excise tax on lubricating oil of $.04 per gallon, which shall be collected as herein provided. (a) The Legislature recognizes that there has been a certain windfall to Escambia County paid during the fiscal year 1983-84 and arising under the oil and gas severance tax levied under provisions of Section 40-20-2, and distributed under Section 40-20-8.
