Section 9-17-175 Alabama Propane Education and Research Council. (a) The qualified industry
organization shall select members of the council from nominations made by retail marketers
and wholesalers operating in the State of Alabama. Vacancies in the unfinished terms of council
members shall be filled in the same manner as were the original appointments. (b) The council
shall consist of nine members, with six members representing retail marketers, two members
representing wholesalers, and one public member. Other than the public member, council members
shall be full-time employees or owners of businesses in the propane gas industry. No employee

Section 9-17-6 Oil and Gas Board - Powers and duties generally. (a) The board shall
have jurisdiction and authority over all persons and property necessary to administer and
enforce effectively the provisions of this article and all other articles relating to the

Section 11-3-11.3 Collection of local taxes - Department of Revenue. (a) Counties may,
upon request of the county commission, engage the Department of Revenue to collect and administer
any county sales, use, rental, lodgings, tobacco, or other local taxes for which there is
a corresponding state levy. Subject to subsections (d) and (e) below, the department shall
collect and administer a county sales, use, rental, lodgings, tobacco, or other tax for which
there is a corresponding state levy on behalf of the requesting county. Any county sales,

Section 40-14-41 (Not Effective After December 31, 1999) Levy on foreign corporations.
(a) Amount of levy. Every corporation organized under the laws of any other state, nation,
or territory and doing business in this state, except strictly benevolent, educational, or
religious corporations, shall pay annually to the state an annual franchise tax of three dollars
($3) on each one thousand dollars ($1,000) of the actual amount of its capital employed in

producers eligible for participation in a referendum conducted under the provisions of this
