Section 45-49-242.21 Special ad valorem tax for public school purposes. (a) The following words and phrases used in this section, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, in the absence of a clear implication herein otherwise, shall be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) AMENDMENT 3. That amendment to the constitution that was pro- posed by Act 60 enacted at the 1915 Regular Session of the Legislature of Alabama. (2) AMENDMENT 325. Section 45-5-141.20 Powers and duties; annual dues; board of trustees; referendum election. (a) This section shall apply only in Blount County. (b) A district for the delivery of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval of the mandatory annual dues of the district. Section 45-43-241 Ad valorem tax authorized. (a) Pursuant to subsection (f) of Amendment 373 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, the Lowndes County Commission, in addition to any other tax, may levy an ad valorem tax in the amount of three mills on each dollar of taxable property in the county. The tax herein authorized, if levied, shall begin on the tax year beginning October 1, 2003.
