Section 41-29-501 Definitions. (a) For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings: (1) AUTHORITY. The public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of Sections 41-10-20 through 41-10-32. (2) AUTHORIZED PURPOSE. Any one or more of the purposes for which grants are herein authorized to be made as specified in Section 41-29-503(a). (3) BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The board of directors of the authority. (4) BOND. Section 16-18A-4 Powers and duties. The purpose of the authority shall be to assist institutions for higher education in the construction, financing and refinancing of the projects. Section 22-21-270 Certificates of need - Period for which valid; extension of time; termination; transferability. (a) A certificate of need issued under subsection (a) of Section 22-21-265 and Section 22-21-268 shall be valid for a period not to exceed 12 months and may be subject to one extension not to exceed 12 months, provided the criteria for extension as set forth in the rules and regulations of the SHPDA are met.
