Section 34-40-8 Expiration of licenses; renewal fee; continuing education. All licenses issued by the board to athletic trainers shall expire on the last day of December each year. The license may be renewed on payment of a renewal fee, fixed by the board, completion of continuing education, and current licensee information, as may be needed. The board may reduce the renewal fee for a licensee who has been licensed less than six months before his or her license expires. The board shall adopt a program of continuing education for its licensees. The successful completion of the annual continuing education program shall be a requisite for the renewal of licenses issued pursuant to this chapter. (a) When an application is filed under this chapter, the commission shall investigate the applicant's financial condition and responsibility, financial and business experience, character, and general fitness.
