Section 11-3-45 Board; powers and duties; membership; terms; election of officers; compensation. (a) The institute shall be under the direction and supervision of the Board of the Alabama Local Government Training Institute. The board shall have the power and duty to organize, administer, control, oversee, and advise the institute so that the institute shall be operated pursuant to this article. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. A broker-dealer or investment adviser shall provide access to or copies of records that are relevant to the suspected or attempted financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult to agencies charged with administering state adult protective services laws and to law enforcement, either as part of a referral to the agency or to law enforcement, or upon request of the agency or law enforcement pursuant to an investigation.
