Section 22-13A-4 Establishment and promotion of program; duties of officer; strategies for raising public awareness and educating consumers and professionals. (a) The State Department of Health, hereinafter referred to as "the department," shall establish, promote, and maintain an osteoporosis prevention and treatment education program in order to raise public awareness, educate consumers, educate and train health professionals, teachers, and human service providers, and for other purposes. (b) For purposes of administering this chapter, the State Health Officer shall do all of the following: (1) Provide sufficient staff to implement the Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Education Program. (2) Provide appropriate training for staff of the Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Education Program. (3) Identify the appropriate entities to carry out the program. Section 22-7A-1 Physician agreements; dentist agreements. (a) For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings: (1) DENTIST. A person licensed to practice dentistry in this state. (2) DENTIST AGREEMENT or AGREEMENT. A contract between a dentist and a patient or his or her legal representative in which the dentist or the dentist's medical practice agrees to provide dental services to the patient for an agreed upon fee and period of time. (a) The Department of Public Health shall publish within 180 days after October 14, 2002, and shall update on an annual basis, the following easily comprehensible printed materials: (1) Geographically indexed printed materials designed to inform the woman of public and private agencies and services available to provide medical and financial assistance to a woman through pregnancy, prenatal care, upon childbirth, and while her child is dependent. Section 34-9-6.1 Mobile dental facilities or portable dental operations. (a) For purposes of this section, the following words have the following meanings: (1) DENTAL HOME. The dental home is the ongoing relationship between the dentist and the patient, inclusive of all aspects of oral health care, delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. (2) MOBILE DENTAL FACILITY. Any self-contained facility in which dentistry or dental hygiene is practiced which may be moved, towed, or transported from one location to another. (3) OPERATOR. Section 41-23-213 Grant program; rulemaking authority; Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund. (a) The Director of ADECA may establish and administer the broadband accessibility grant program for the purpose of promoting the deployment and adoption of broadband Internet access services to unserved areas. By June 26, 2018, the director shall adopt rules and policies to administer the program and begin to accept applications for grants, and shall adopt such rules as may be necessary to meet the future needs of the grant program. (b) The program shall be administered pursuant to policies developed by ADECA in compliance with this article.
