Section 8-6-29 Interpretative opinions by commission. (a) The Securities Commission, in its discretion, may honor requests from interested persons for interpretative opinions and no-action letters. (b) Any person who makes application to the Securities Commission for an interpretative opinion or no-action letter shall be assessed a non-refundable filing fee of $150 upon application for such opinion or letter. Fees collected under this section shall be deposited in the Alabama Securities Commission Fund in the State Treasury to be drawn upon by the commission for its use in the administration of this article. Section 8-19C-2 Database of subscribers objecting to telephone solicitations. (a) No person or entity may make or cause to be made any telephone solicitation to the telephone line of any residential subscriber in this state who has given notice to the commission of his or her objection to receiving telephone solicitations. (b)(1) The commission shall establish and operate a database to compile a list of telephone numbers of residential subscribers who object to receiving telephone solicitations. The commission shall have the database in operation before July 1, 2000. (2) The database may be operated by the commission or by another entity under contract with the commission. Section 8-6-14 Filing or registration not finding of truth, completeness, etc., of documents; representations concerning effect of registration or exemption. Section 32-13-3 Authority to sell; notice; bill of sale; records; voiding of sale; title. (a) A person, as defined in Section 40-12-240, in possession of a motor vehicle that is considered an abandoned motor vehicle may sell the motor vehicle at a public auction. (b)(1) Notice of the date, time, and place of the sale and a description of the motor vehicle to be sold, including the year, make, model, and vehicle identification number, shall be given by publication once a week for two successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county in which the sale is to be held, provided the vehicle is currently registered in the county. Section 45-49-91.18 Appeals to Mobile County Commission. (a) Appeals to the Mobile County Commission may be taken by any aggrieved person. The appeal shall be taken as provided by the rules of the board and within the time period prescribed by its rules, by filing notice of appeal specifying the grounds thereof with the board from whom the appeal is taken and with the Mobile County Commission. (a)(1) If the interest of an owner in a vehicle passes to another other than by voluntary transfer, the transferee shall, except as hereinafter provided in subsection (b), promptly mail or deliver to a designated agent the last certificate of title, if available, and proof of the transfer, together with his or her application for a new certificate in the form the department prescribes. (a) The commission shall have the authority to charge a residential subscriber a fee every two years payable to the commission for each notice for inclusion on the database established pursuant to this chapter. The commission shall also have the authority to charge a person or entity desiring to make telephone solicitations a fee per year payable to the commission for access to, or for paper or electronic copies of the database established pursuant to this chapter.
