Section 32-5A-350 Definitions; prohibited activities; fines; exceptions. (a) For purposes of this article, the following words have the following meanings: (1) WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICE. A handheld cellular telephone, a text-messaging device, a personal digital assistant, a stand alone computer, or any other similar wireless device that is readily removable from a vehicle and is used to write, send, or read text or data through manual input. The term "wireless telecommunication device" does not include a device which is voice-operated and which allows the user to send or receive a text-based communication without the use of either hand except to activate or deactivate a feature or function. (2) WRITE, SEND, OR READ A TEXT-BASED COMMUNICATION. Section 17-3-30.1 Disqualification of electors for felonies involving moral turpitude. (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the Felony Voter Disqualification Act. (b)(1) The Legislature finds and declares that: a. Section 22-30-19 Penalties and remedies. (a) Whenever, on the basis of any information, the department determines that any person is in violation of any requirement of this chapter, any rule or regulation promulgated by the department or any permit issued under authority granted by this chapter, the department may issue an order requiring compliance immediately or within a specified time period, and, in cases where an imminent threat to human health or the environment is demonstrated, suspend operations causing such threat until the department determines that adequate steps are being taken to correct such violations. Section 45-37-42 Regulation of tattooing. (a) This section shall be operative only in Jefferson County. (b) For the purposes of this section, the following words have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) DEPARTMENT. The Jefferson County Board of Health. (2) TATTOO or TATTOOING. The act of inserting a pigment under the skin of a human being by pricking with a needle or otherwise, so as to produce an indelible mark or figure visible through the skin. Section 8-33-11 Enforcement provisions. (a) The commissioner may conduct examinations of warrantors, administrators, or other persons to enforce this chapter and protect warranty holders in this state.
