Section 40-23-1 Definitions; transactions considered or not considered sales. (a) For the purpose
of this division, the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed by this
section: (1) PERSON or COMPANY. Used interchangeably, includes any individual, firm, copartnership,
association, corporation, receiver, trustee, or any other group or combination acting as a
unit and the plural as well as the singular number, unless the intention to give a more limited
meaning is disclosed by the context. (2) DEPARTMENT. The Department of Revenue of the State

Section 41-29-1 Creation; composition; support. (a)(1) There is hereby created the Department
of Commerce within the office of the Governor and directly under his or her supervision and
control. The Department of Commerce shall be headed by the Secretary of Commerce, who shall
be a person possessed with extensive responsible experience in development of economic, human,
and physical resources and promotion of industrial and commercial development. The secretary

Section 45-35-244 Definitions. (a) The following words, terms, and phrases as used in this
subpart shall have the following respective meanings except where the context clearly indicates

(a) The power of the authority shall be vested in and exercised by a majority of the members
of the board of directors. The board may delegate to one or more of its members or its officers,

Section 27-12-14 Inducements as to property, casualty, or surety insurance. (a) No property,
casualty, or surety insurer, or any employee thereof, and no broker, agent, or solicitor shall

shall be made in writing, under oath, and in the form as the department may prescribe. (b)

rights. (a) A purchase of consumer goods or services ordered as a result of a commercial telephone
solicitation as defined in this chapter, if not followed by a signed written contract, is
