Section 8-24-1 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1)
COMMISSION. Compensation accruing to a sales representative for payment by a principal, the
rate of which is expressed as a percentage of the dollar amount of certain orders or sales.
(2) PRINCIPAL. Any person who does all of the following: a. Engages in the business of manufacturing,
producing, importing, or distributing a product or products for sale to customers who purchase
the product or products for resale. b. Utilizes sales representatives to solicit orders for
the product or products. c. Compensates the sales representatives, in whole or in part, by
commission. (3) SALES REPRESENTATIVE. Any person who engages in the business of soliciting,
on behalf of a principal, orders for the purchase at wholesale of the product or products
of the principal, but does not include a person who places orders or purchases...

Section 25-4-10 Employment. (a) Subject to other provisions of this chapter, "employment"
means: (1) Any service performed prior to January 1, 1978, which was employment as defined
in this section prior to such date and, subject to the other provisions of this section,
services performed for remuneration after December 31, 1977, including service in interstate
commerce, by: a. Any officer of a corporation; or b. Any individual who, under the usual common

Lines Insurance Multi-State Compliance Compact Act is enacted into law and entered into with

Section 8-6-2 Definitions. When used in this article, unless the context otherwise requires,
the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

Section 27-7-4.2 Licenses - Applicability to insurance producer. (a) Nothing in this
chapter shall be construed to require an insurer to obtain an insurance producer license.
In this section, the term "insurer" does not include an insurer's officers,

Section 20-2-190 Penalties; sale of ephedrine, etc.; Alabama Drug Abuse Task Force.
(a) Any person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor
chemical violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting
requirements of this article; (2) Knowingly makes a false statement in a report or record
required by this article or the rules adopted thereunder; (3) Is required by this article
to have a listed precursor chemical license or permit, and is a person as defined by this
article, and knowingly or deliberately fails to obtain such a license or permit. An offense

Section 8-19A-3 Definitions. As used in this chapter and Chapter 19C, the following

Section 34-27-36 Disciplinary action - Generally. (a) The commission or its staff may
on its own, or on the verified complaint in writing of any person, investigate the actions
and records of a licensee. The commission may issue subpoenas and compel the testimony of
witnesses and the production of records and documents during an investigation. If probable
cause is found, a formal complaint shall be filed and the commission shall hold a hearing
on the formal complaint. The commission shall revoke or suspend the license or impose a fine
