Section 9-18A-1 Enactment of Southern States Energy Compact. The Legislature hereby enacts, and the State of Alabama hereby enters into, the Southern States Energy Compact with any and all states legally joining therein in accordance with its terms, in the form substantially as follows: "SOUTHERN STATES ENERGY COMPACT "Article I. Policy and Purpose. "The party states recognize that the proper employment and conservation of energy and employment of energy-related facilities, materials, and products, within the context of a responsible regard for the environment, can assist substantially in the industrialization of the south and the development of a balanced economy for the region. They also recognize that optimum benefit from an acquisition of energy resources and facilities require systematic encouragement, guidance and assistance from the party states on a cooperative basis. Section 8-1A-8 Provision of information in writing; presentation of records. (a) Subject to subsection (e), if parties have agreed to conduct a transaction by electronic means and a law requires a person to provide, send, or deliver information in writing to another person, the requirement is satisfied if the information is provided, sent, or delivered, as the case may be, in an electronic record capable of retention by the recipient at the time of receipt. Section 15-20A-20 Adult sex offender - Electronic monitoring. (a) The Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency shall implement a system of active and passive electronic monitoring that identifies the location of a monitored person and that can produce upon request reports or records of the person's presence near or within a crime scene or prohibited area, the person's departure from specified geographic limitations, or curfew violations by the offender.
