Section 5-20-3 Definitions. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, for the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings prescribed by this section: (1) ALABAMA BANK. A bank which is organized under the laws of this state or of the United States and which has its principal place of business in this state. (2) BANK. Any "insured bank" as such term is defined in Section 3(h) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, 12 U.S.C. §1813(h). (3) BANK HOLDING COMPANY. Any company which is a bank holding company under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, as amended, 12 U.S.C. §1841(a). (4) CREDIT CARD. Section 7-4-406 Customer's duty to discover and report unauthorized signature or alteration. (a) A bank that sends or makes available to a customer a statement of account showing payment of items for the account shall either return or make available to the customer the items paid or provide information in the statement of account sufficient to allow the customer reasonably to identify the items paid. The statement of account provides sufficient information if the item is described by item number, amount, and date of payment.
