Section 16-6F-6 Authorization of establishment; Alabama Public Charter School Commission; registration requirements; powers and duties of authorizers. (a) Eligible authorizing entities. (1) A public charter school shall not be established in this state unless its establishment is authorized by this section. No governmental entity or other entity, other than an entity expressly granted chartering authority as set forth in this section, may assume any authorizing function or duty in any form. Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. (a) The Secretary of State, upon request and payment of the requisite fee, shall furnish to any person a certificate of existence for a limited partnership if the writings filed in the office of the Secretary of State show that the limited partnership has been formed under the laws of this state. Notwithstanding Sections 10A-1-9.01 and 10A-1-9.21: (a) A dissolved partnership may dispose of any known claims against it by following the procedures described in subsection (b) at any time after the effective date of the dissolution of the partnership.
