Section 40-17-271 Powers and authority of the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue. (a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this law, the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue is authorized to enter into reciprocal agreements on behalf of this state with the duly authorized representatives of any of the states of the United States, the District of Columbia, or a state or province of a foreign country or a territory or possession of either the United States or a foreign country providing for the uniform administration of motor fuels use taxation laws with respect to motor vehicles operated in multiple member jurisdictions.
