Section 6-8-30 Power to have abstract of title made; inspection thereof by prospective purchasers; costs of abstract. (a) Whenever any court shall order the sale of any real estate or interest therein, the court shall have power to have an abstract of the title of the property to be sold to be made by some competent person or company, which said abstract shall be filed with the officer making the sale for five days before the date of the sale, and which shall be open to the inspection and examination of any prospective purchaser. (b) The court shall fix the compensation of the person or company making such abstract, and the amount so fixed shall be a part of the cost and expenses of said sale and shall be paid out of the proceeds thereof. Section 40-23-4 Exemptions. (a) There are exempted from the provisions of this division and from the computation of the amount of the tax levied, assessed, or payable under this division the following: (1) The gross proceeds of the sales of lubricating oil and gasoline as defined in Sections 40-17-30 and 40-17-170 and the gross proceeds from those sales of lubricating oil destined for out-of-state use which are transacted in a manner whereby an out-of-state purchaser takes delivery of such oil at a distributor's plant within this state and transports it out-of-state, which are otherwise taxed. Section 34-27-36 Disciplinary action - Generally. (a) The commission or its staff may on its own, or on the verified complaint in writing of any person, investigate the actions and records of a licensee. The commission may issue subpoenas and compel the testimony of witnesses and the production of records and documents during an investigation.
