Section 14-7-8 Powers of Board of Corrections. THIS SECTION WAS AMENDED BY ACT 2019-454 IN

(a) The Alabama Department of Corrections may do all of the following: (1) Purchase, in the
manner prescribed by law, equipment, raw materials, components, and supplies. (2) Engage the
supervisory personnel necessary to establish and maintain for this state, at a penitentiary,
penal farm, or other institution now or hereafter under the control of the department, industries
for the utilization of services of prisoners in the manufacture or production of such articles
or products as may be needed for the construction, operation, maintenance, or use of any office,
department, institution, or agency supported in whole or in part by this state and the political
subdivisions thereof. (3) Promote the department's products and services using any of the

The Legislature recognizes that saving for the purchase of a first home is very challenging
in today's economy. The Legislature declares that first-time and second chance home buyer
savings accounts provide an opportunity for Alabama residents to save funds for home ownership.
The first-time and second chance home buyer savings account program is intended to enable
first-time and second chance home buyers in Alabama to plan for and utilize a tax incentive
to save funds for a down payment and closing costs for the purchase of a first home in Alabama.

Section 45-26-141.02 Definitions. As used in this part, the following words and phrases shall

Section 9-16-106 Provisions cumulative; certain laws not repealed. This article is cumulative
and is intended to preempt local, municipal, county and state regulation of surface coal mining
operations and to supplement existing state law and no part hereof shall be construed to repeal
or supersede an existing state law specifically enacted for the control, abatement or prevention
of water or air pollution. The Alabama Surface Mining Act of 1969 (Act 399, Regular Session
1969) now appearing as Sections 9-16-1 through 9-16-15, is not repealed as to the regulation
of the surface mining of clay, sand, gravel, ores, limestone, marble, dolomite, and other
minerals. The Little River Canyon Preservation Acts, Act 227, H. 49 and Act 524, H. 1225 of
the 1976 Regular Session (Acts of Alabama pages 243 and 669 respectively) are not repealed.

Section 10A-2-14.31 Procedure for judicial dissolution. REPEALED IN THE 2019 REGULAR SESSION
BY ACT 2019-94 EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2020. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. (a)
Venue for a proceeding to dissolve a corporation lies in the county where a corporation's
articles of incorporation are filed, or, in the case of a corporation created by an act of
the Legislature prior to the adoption of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, or which resulted
from a merger or consolidation, in Montgomery County. (b) It is not necessary to make shareholders
parties to a proceeding to dissolve a corporation unless relief is sought against them individually.
(c) A court in a proceeding brought to dissolve a corporation may issue injunctions, appoint
a receiver or custodian pendente lite with all powers and duties the court directs, take other
action required to preserve the corporate assets wherever located, and carry on the business
