Section 8-9B-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter: (1) "Affiliate" means: (i) a person that directly or indirectly owns, controls, or holds with power to vote, 20 percent or more of the outstanding voting securities of the debtor, other than a person that holds the securities: (A) as a fiduciary or agent without sole discretionary power to vote the securities; or (B) solely to secure a debt, if the person has not in fact exercised the power to vote; (ii) a corporation 20 percent or more of whose outstanding voting securities are directly or indirectly owned, controlled, or held, with power to vote, by the debtor or a person that directly or indirectly owns, controls, or holds, with power to vote, 20 percent or more of the outstanding voting securities of the debtor, other than a person that holds the securities: (A) as a fiduciary or agent without sole discretionary power to vote the securities; or (B) solely to secure a debt, if the person has not in fact exercised the power to...

Section 16-1-39 Self-administration of medications by student. (a) Commencing with the 2007-2008 scholastic year, each local board of education and the governing body of each nonpublic school in the state shall permit the self-administration of medications by a student for chronic conditions if conducted in compliance with the State Department of Education and State Board of Nursing Medication Curriculum, as may be amended from time to time by the department and board. Approved medications may be self-administered if the parent or legal guardian of the student provides all of the information outlined in the medication curriculum, including, but not limited to, all of the following: (1) Written and signed authorization for the self-administration to the chief executive officer of the school. Section 22-23B-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases, whenever used in this chapter, shall have the following respective meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: AUTHORITY. (a) The following words or phrases, or the plural thereof, whenever they appear in this chapter, unless the context clearly requires otherwise, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section: (1) AGREEMENT. Section 31-9-10 Local emergency management organizations; emergency powers of political subdivisions. (a) Each political subdivision of this state is hereby authorized and directed to establish a local organization for emergency management in accordance with the state emergency management plan and program and may confer or authorize the conferring, upon members of the auxiliary police, the powers of peace officers, subject to such restrictions as shall be imposed. Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes.
