Section 9-18A-1 Enactment of Southern States Energy Compact. The Legislature hereby enacts, and the State of Alabama hereby enters into, the Southern States Energy Compact with any and all states legally joining therein in accordance with its terms, in the form substantially as follows: "SOUTHERN STATES ENERGY COMPACT "Article I. Policy and Purpose. "The party states recognize that the proper employment and conservation of energy and employment of energy-related facilities, materials, and products, within the context of a responsible regard for the environment, can assist substantially in the industrialization of the south and the development of a balanced economy for the region. Section 27-34-13 Certificate of compliance. The commissioner may make such examination and require such further information as he deems advisable. Upon presentation of satisfactory evidence that the society has complied with all the provisions of law, he shall issue to the society a certificate to that effect and that the society is authorized to transact business pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (a) The Lauderdale County Commission shall reimburse the office of judge of probate, revenue commissioner, and license commissioner from the general fund in the amount of any monetary loss, not to exceed a total of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per annum, arising or caused without the personal knowledge of the officer, including loss arising from acceptance of worthless or forged checks, drafts, money orders, or other written orders for money or its equivalent. Section 27-29B-7 NAIC and third-party consultants.
