Section 34-24-250 Appointment; composition; qualifications of members; appointment; terms of
office. (a) The Governor of Alabama shall appoint a State Board of Podiatry consisting of
seven persons, each of whom shall be a citizen of the United States and of Alabama, over the
age of 25, and shall have been engaged in the actual continuous practice of podiatry in the
State of Alabama for at least five years next preceding his or her appointment. One member
of the board shall be appointed each year, with the exception of three members being appointed
every fifth year starting in 1979, for terms of five years and until their successors are
appointed and qualified. No member of the board shall be reappointed for a successive term.
Previous board members are eligible for nonsuccessive appointments. The Governor may remove
from office at any time any member of the board for neglect of duty, incompetency, improper

Section 45-49-100.41 Vacancies; recordkeeping. The board of school commissioners shall have
power to fill any and all vacancies that may occur therein or in the office of superintendent,
and the persons that may be elected by the board to fill vacancies shall hold their offices

Section 45-8A-130.13 Removal, discharge, or demotion of employee, officer, or city official;
proceedings. (a) The governing body of the city, any member of the governing body, or the
head of any department or office can remove, discharge, or demote any employee, officer, or
official of the city who is subject to this part and who is directly under such governing
body, member thereof, or department head, provided that within five days a report in writing
of such action is made to the board, giving the reason for such removal, discharge, or demotion.
The employee shall have 10 days from the time of notification of his or her discharge, removal,
or demotion in which to appeal to the board. The board shall thereupon order the charges or
complaint to be filed forthwith in writing and shall hold a hearing de novo on such charges.

board of education, the vacancy shall be filled by appointment by a majority of the remaining

of death, resignation, removal, or any other cause, the president of the council shall assume
