Section 16-4-4 Duties generally. The State Superintendent of Education shall explain the true
intent and meaning of the school laws and of the rules and regulations of the State Board
of Education. He shall decide, without expense to the parties concerned, all controversies
and disputes involving the proper administration of the public school system. The State Superintendent
of Education shall enforce all the provisions of this title and the rules and regulations
of the State Board of Education. He shall file charges with the State Board of Education or
other controlling authority and shall recommend for removal or institute proceedings for the
removal of any person appointed under the provisions of this title for immorality, misconduct

Section 45-37A-54.63 Board of directors. Such authority formed under this subpart shall constitute
a public benefit agency of the State of Alabama and shall have a board of directors of nine
members selected as herein provided. Such board of directors shall constitute the governing

Section 45-37-123.21 Designation of administrative authority. (a) General administration. The
role of the pension board is established by the State of Alabama through legislative act.
The pension board is responsible for the general administration and proper operation of the

trustees of the state educational institution at Livingston, Alabama, now known as The University

Section 16-12-1 Appointment, compensation, and removal; vacancies. (a) The city board of education
shall appoint a city superintendent of schools to hold office at the pleasure of the board.
The city superintendent of schools shall receive such compensation as the city board of education
