Section 5-24-22 Payment on multiple-party account. A financial institution, on request, may
pay sums on deposit in a multiple-party account to: (1) One or more of the parties, whether
or not another party is disabled, incapacitated, or deceased when payment is requested and
whether or not the party making the request survives another party; or (2) The personal representative,
if any, of a deceased party if proof of death is presented to the financial institution showing
that the deceased party was the survivor of all other persons named on the account either

Section 5-24-12 Rights at death. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, on death
of a party sums on deposit in a multiple-party account belong to the surviving party or parties.
If two or more parties survive and one is the surviving spouse of the decedent, the amount

Section 34-27-36 Disciplinary action - Generally. (a) The commission or its staff may on its
own, or on the verified complaint in writing of any person, investigate the actions and records
of a licensee. The commission may issue subpoenas and compel the testimony of witnesses and
the production of records and documents during an investigation. If probable cause is found,
a formal complaint shall be filed and the commission shall hold a hearing on the formal complaint.
The commission shall revoke or suspend the license or impose a fine of not less than one hundred
dollars ($100) nor more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500), or both, or reprimand

Section 36-25-1 Definitions. Whenever used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall
have the following meanings: (1) BUSINESS. Any corporation, partnership, proprietorship, firm,
enterprise, franchise, association, organization, self-employed individual, or any other legal

Section 5-24-26 Discharge. (a) Payment made pursuant to this chapter in accordance with the
type of account discharges the financial institution from all claims for amounts so paid,
whether or not the payment is consistent with the beneficial ownership of the account as between

Section 5-24-21 Authority of financial institution. A financial institution may enter into
a contract of deposit for a multiple-party account to the same extent it may enter into a
contract of deposit for a single-party account, and may provide for a POD designation and
an agency designation in either a single-party account or a multiple-party account. A financial
institution need not inquire as to the source of a deposit to an account or as to the proposed

Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved,
adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes.
