Section 34-14-2 Licenses or permits - Required; display; duplicates; corporations, partnerships, etc. (a) No person shall engage in the sale of or practice of fitting hearing instruments or display a sign or in any other way advertise or represent himself or herself as a person who practices the fitting and sale of hearing instruments unless the person holds a license or permit issued by the board as provided in this chapter. The license or permit shall be conspicuously posted in his or her office or place of business. Duplicate licenses or permits may be issued by the board to valid license holders operating more than one office, upon additional payment determined by the board for each additional office. A license under this chapter shall confer upon the holder the right to select, fit, and sell hearing instruments. (a) This chapter does not prohibit one or more geologists from practicing through the business organizations of a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or professional association. Section 25-5-8 Employers' options to secure payment of compensation. (a) Option to insure risks. An employer subject to this chapter may secure the payment of compensation under this chapter by insuring and keeping insured his or her liability in some insurance corporation, association, organization, insurance association, corporation, or association formed of employers and workers or formed by a group of employers to insure the risks under this chapter, operating by mutual assessment or other plans or otherwise. Section 37-15-10 Penalties. (a) Any person who violates this chapter, or the rules adopted under this chapter, shall be subject to a civil penalty as follows: (1) For a first violation, the violator shall complete a course of training concerning compliance with this chapter or pay a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500) per incident, or both.
