Section 5-13B-41 Definitions. For purposes of this article: (a) The term "bank" means
any bank as defined in: Section 2(c) of the Bank Holding Company Act (12 U.S.C. §1841(c));
Section 3(a)(1) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (12 U.S.C. §1813(a)(1)), other than
a branch of a foreign bank; or, as the context may require, in Chapter 5A, Title 5. The term
"bank" as used in this article shall not in any event include a foreign bank or
a branch or agency of a foreign bank. (b) The term "foreign bank" means any company
organized under the laws of a foreign country, a territory of the United States, Puerto Rico,
Guam, American Samoa, or the Virgin Islands, that engages directly in the business of banking.
The term includes foreign commercial banks, foreign merchant banks, and other foreign institutions
that engage in banking activities usual in connection with the business of banking in the

Section 11-42-106 Powers, duties, rights, etc., of consolidated municipalities; continuation
of civil actions as to consolidated municipalities. (a) The consolidated city or town shall
succeed to all the powers, obligations, duties, rights of action, property, and rights of
property that belonged to or appertained to the municipalities consolidated and shall have
all the rights, powers, and privileges delegated to municipalities under the applicable provisions

Section 11-88-7.1 Additional powers. (a) Any authority organized or operating pursuant to Chapter
88 of Title 11 shall, in addition to all other powers now or hereafter granted by law, have
the following powers and rights: (1) To borrow money for temporary use for any of its corporate

Section 11-95-15 Applicability of Division 2 of Article 4 of Chapter 21 of Title 22. A corporation
shall constitute a hospital corporation as that term is used in Sections 22-21-101, 22-21-102,
and 22-21-106 as now or hereafter amended. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing,
any corporation may be designated by its authorizing county as the agency of such county to
