Section 8-7A-2 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) AGENT or AUTHORIZED DELEGATE. Any person designated or employed by a licensee under this chapter to provide monetary transmission services on behalf of the licensee. (2) APPLICANT. Any person that files an application for a license under this chapter. (3) BANK. An institution organized under federal or state law which meets any of the following requirements: a. Accepts demand deposits or deposits that the depositor may use for payment to third parties and engages in the business of making loans. b. Engages in credit card operations and maintains only one office that accepts deposits, does not accept demand deposits or deposits that a depositor may use for payments to third parties, does not accept a savings or time deposit less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000), and does not engage in the business of making commercial loans. c. Section 40-12-305 Implementation of FORT system. (a)(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of Section 32-6-65, no later than January 1, 2022, the department shall develop, maintain, and make available a fleet online registration and tax system, known as the FORT system, which shall allow a fleet operator to do all of the following: a. Remit for each fleet vehicle the ad valorem taxes as required by Section 40-12-253, levied under Chapter 8. b. Remit license taxes and registration fees levied under this chapter in a manner as prescribed by the department by rule. c. Section 11-51-91 Licenses for business, etc., conducted outside corporate limits of municipality. (a) Any municipality may adopt an ordinance to fix and collect licenses for any business, trade, or profession done within the police jurisdiction of the municipality but outside the corporate limits thereof; provided, that the amount of the licenses shall not be more than one half the amount charged and collected as a license for like business, trade, or profession done within the corporate limits of the municipality, fees and penalties excluded; and provided further, that the total amount of the licenses shall not be in an amount greater than the cost of services provided by the municipality within the police jurisdiction. Section 10A-5-9.02 Requirements for articles of merger; effective date. REPEALED IN THE 2014 REGULAR SESSION BY ACT 2014-144 EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2017. (a) If a domestic limited liability company is merging under this chapter, the domestic limited liability company or other business entity surviving or resulting from the merger shall file articles of merger in the Office of the Secretary of State.
