Section 11-81-21 Investment of funds obligation in which sinking funds may be invested. Any municipal funds or county funds not presently needed for other purposes may be invested in any obligations in which sinking funds are now authorized to be invested, pursuant to Section 11-81-19, and in addition in any of the following: (1) Direct obligations of (including obligations issued or held in book entry form on the books of) the Department of the Treasury of the United States of America; (2) Obligations of any of the following federal agencies, which obligations represent the full faith and credit of the United States of America: a. (a) The Legislature finds that the number of students attending the several school systems located in those areas of North Alabama that will be directly impacted by the 2005 BRAC and Subsequent BRAC Actions will collectively increase by an estimated 9,000 students. As a result, there will be a need for the construction of additional school facilities as well as the renovation of existing school facilities.
