Section 45-22-243.90 Definitions. (a) The following words, terms, and phrases where used in
this subpart shall have the following respective meanings except where the context clearly
indicates a different meaning: (1) CITY OF CULLMAN. The City of Cullman in the county. (2)
COMMISSIONER. The Commissioner of Revenue of the State. (3) COUNTY. Cullman County in the
State of Alabama. (4) COUNTY TREASURER. The county treasurer of the county or other officer
or entity at the time that exercises the functions of treasurer of the county. (5) FISCAL
YEAR. The period commencing on October 1 of each calendar year and ending on September 30
of the next succeeding calendar year. (6) HIGHWAY DIRECTOR. The Director of Transportation.
(7) MONTH. A calendar month. (8) MUNICIPALITIES OTHER THAN THE CITY OF CULLMAN. As of any

Section 45-43-246.82 Levy of tax; exemption. (a) The County Commission of Lowndes County shall
levy, in addition to all other taxes, including, but not limited to, municipal gross receipts
license taxes, a one cent ($.01) privilege license tax against gross sales or gross receipts.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the amount of the tax levied pursuant to this subpart upon
each person, firm, or corporation engaged in the business of selling at retail machines used
in mining, quarrying, compounding, processing, and manufacturing of tangible personal property,

Section 45-47-244.23 Payment of taxes; reports. The taxes levied in Section 45-47-244.21 shall
be due and payable in monthly installments on or before the twentieth day of the month next

Section 45-5-243 Power to levy; disposition of proceeds. (a) Subject to any limitation of the
Constitution of Alabama of 1901, or of any general law of this state, the Blount County Commission
shall have the power to levy and provide for the collection of additional privilege license
taxes, excise taxes, gasoline taxes, and sales and use taxes. The proceeds from any of the

Section 45-20-242.51 Privilege license and excise taxes. (a) The special county taxes levied
pursuant to this subpart shall be privilege license and excise taxes in substance as follows:

Section 45-24-20.02 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; collection; records. (a) This section
shall only apply to Dallas County. (b) For purposes of this section, the term liquor shall
have the same meaning as ascribed to the term in subdivision (15) of Section 28-3-1. (c)(1)

of a resolution by the Barbour County Commission, every person, firm, corporation, club, or

Section 45-41-244.21 Exemptions; definitions. There are exempted from the levy of such taxes
the gross receipts of any business and the gross proceeds of all sales which are exempted
