Section 16-22-13.5 Fiscal year 2007 - 2008 adjustments. (a) Pay increases, FY 2007-08. The State Budget Officer shall allocate to the State Board of Education, the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, the Board of Youth Services School District, the Board of Directors of the Alabama School of Fine Arts, and the Board of Trustees of the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science and for disbursement to the employees thereof funds based on the criteria established in this section. It is not the intent of this section to make appropriations, but the appropriations required by this section shall be made in the annual budget act for the public schools and colleges for the designated fiscal years. (a) Counties may, upon request of the county commission, engage the Department of Revenue to collect and administer any county sales, use, rental, lodgings, tobacco, or other local taxes for which there is a corresponding state levy. (a) The corporation and any local subdivision are hereby respectively authorized to enter into with each other one or more lease agreements whereunder a project or any part thereof shall be leased by the corporation to such local subdivision for a term not longer than the then current fiscal year of such local subdivision, but any such lease agreement may contain a grant to such local subdivision of successive options of renewing the said lease agreement on the terms specified therein for any subsequent fiscal year or years of such local subdivision. Section 16-6D-8 Tax credits; Failing Schools Income Tax Credit Account. (a) To provide educational flexibility and state accountability for students in failing schools: (1) For tax years beginning on and after January 1, 2013, an Alabama income tax credit is made available to the parent of a student enrolled in or assigned to attend a failing school to help offset the cost of transferring the student to a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school of the parent's choice.
