Section 34-8-7 Exemptions from chapter; subcontractor requirements. (a) The following
shall be exempted from this chapter: (1) The practice of general contracting, as defined in
Section 34-8-1, by an authorized representative or representatives of the United States
Government, State of Alabama, incorporated town, city, or county in this state, which is under
the supervision of a licensed architect or engineer provided any work contracted out by the
representative shall comply with the provisions of this chapter for general contractor. (2)
The construction of any residence or private dwelling. (3) A person, firm, or corporation
constructing a building or other improvements on his, her, or its own property provided that
any of the work contracted out complies with the definition in this chapter for general contractor.
A municipal governing body or municipal regulatory body may not enact any ordinance or law

Section 45-49-151.17 Disposition of funds. (a) All fees, commissions, taxes, and other
monies, including fines and forfeitures, received under this subpart shall be paid to the
racing commission and shall be remitted by it to the county treasurer for deposit in the county
treasury to the account of the Mobile County Racing Commission as directed by the racing commission.
All monies remaining after payment of the expenses incurred in the administration of this
subpart including, but not limited to, the payment of the salaries and expenses of the members
and employees of the racing commission, and subject to any reserves for contingencies as the
racing commission shall direct, shall be distributed by the county treasurer monthly as follows:

Section 45-5-141.20 Powers and duties; annual dues; board of trustees; referendum election.
(a) This section shall apply only in Blount County. (b) A district for the delivery
of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county
pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors
who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval
of the mandatory annual dues of the district. (c) In order to call for a referendum election
for the formation of a district, a petition signed by not less than 20 percent of the registered
voters who reside in the proposed district shall be presented to the county commission and

Section 11-65-2 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this chapter,
and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, unless the context clearly

electronic voting specialists. (a) The voted ballot containers and records of election containers
shall remain sealed for the time provided by law for the filing of contests and then shall
have the seal broken only on the order of that body which, under the general provisions of

Section 36-25-19 Registered lobbyists and other persons required to file quarterly reports.
(a) Every person registered as a lobbyist pursuant to Section 36-25-18 and every principal
employing any lobbyist shall file with the commission a report provided by the commission
pertaining to the activities set out in that section. The report shall be filed with
the commission no later than January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 for each preceding

Section 11-65-4 Elections required to approve incorporation of commission and conduct
of racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon. (a) No commission shall be incorporated for a
Class 1 municipality and no horse racing or greyhound racing or pari-mutuel wagering thereon

is hereby authorized to execute a compact in substantially the following form with the states
of Louisiana and Mississippi, and the legislature hereby signifies in advance its approval
and ratification of such compact, which compact is as follows: Southern High-Speed Rail Commission.
Article I. The purpose of this compact is to study the feasibility of rapid rail transit service
between the states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama and to establish a joint interstate
