Section 45-30-230 Expense allowance; salary. (a) This section shall be operative in Franklin County. (b) Commencing on June 1, 1995, the Sheriff of Franklin County shall be entitled to an additional expense allowance equal to the difference between the salary currently being paid to the sheriff and the salary of fifty-two thousand five hundred dollars ($52,500) annually currently being paid to the Circuit Clerk of Franklin County, which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law. (a) It has come to the attention of the Legislature that the present compensation of the circuit judges and District Attorney for the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit is somewhat below the average of that being paid to circuit judges and district attorneys in other judicial circuits in this state which have considerably lighter caseloads than the Twenty-eighth Judicial Circuit.
