Section 45-30A-50.10 Temporary appointment. Pending the availability of a list of names certified as provided in Section 45-30A-50.12, positions may be filled by temporary appointment. The governing body by resolution adopted pursuant to a recommendation of the board may grant permanent status in a position in the classified service so long as such position remains in the classified service, to any employee who has served in a vacancy in a position then in the classified service by temporary appointment for at least 12 months and who has passed his or her examination, if at the time of such action by the governing body no such list of names has been so certified for the vacancy in which the employee is serving.
