Section 11-88-6 Board of directors. (a) Each authority shall be governed by a board of directors.
All powers of the authority shall be exercised by the board or pursuant to its authorization.
(b) The board shall consist initially of three directors, elected, as soon as may be practicable
after the organization of the authority, by the governing body of the determining county for
staggered terms as follows: The first term of one director shall begin immediately upon the
director's election and shall end at noon on March 1 of the next succeeding odd-numbered calendar

Section 28-3-190 Levy of tax; collection; disposition of proceeds by localities; enforcement
and administration; penalties; exclusive nature of tax. (a) Levy. In addition to the excise
tax levied by Article 5A of Chapter 3 of this title and the licenses provided for by Chapter
3A of this title and by Section 28-3-194, and any acts amendatory thereof, supplementary thereto
or substituted therefor, and municipal and county licenses, there is hereby levied a privilege
or excise tax on every person licensed under the provisions of Chapter 3A who sells, stores,
or receives for the purpose of distribution, to any person, firm, corporation, club, or association
within the State of Alabama any beer. The tax levied hereby shall be measured by and graduated
in accordance with the volume of sales by such person of beer, and shall be an amount equal
to one and six hundred twenty-five thousands cents (1.625 cents) for each four fluid ounces

Section 11-44B-25 Procedures to reduce or delete areas from police jurisdiction. Notwithstanding
any law to the contrary, any Class 4 municipality that is organized pursuant to this article
may from time to time reduce or delete various portions and areas from the territorial limits
of its respective police jurisdiction or its planning jurisdiction or both as established
by law, including, but not limited to, Sections 11-40-10 and 11-52-30, Act 76-594 and as amended
by Act 94-539, the reduction and deletion shall be pursuant to the following procedure: (1)
INITIATION. The governing body of the municipality shall adopt a resolution calling for public
hearings to consider the adoption of an ordinance or ordinances for the purpose of deleting
a portion or portions of territory from its respective police jurisdiction or planning jurisdiction,

Section 28-3-1 Definitions. As used in this title, the following words shall have the following
meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Any alcoholic,

Section 45-28A-71 Compensation of chair and board members. (a) There is hereby established
a monthly compensation schedule for the chair and two board members of the Rainbow City Gas,
Water, and Sewer Board in Etowah County, to be paid as follows: The chair of the board shall
receive three hundred dollars ($300) per month; the two board members shall receive one hundred
fifty dollars ($150), each, per month. (b) The Chair of the Rainbow City Utilities Board shall
be entitled to additional compensation in the amount of two hundred dollars ($200) per month.

Section 45-47A-110 Theater board. (a)(1) The City Council of Winfield in Marion County may
create a theater board to oversee the maintenance and operation of the Pastime Theater. (2)
The board shall be composed of seven members appointed by the city council. The members of
the board shall elect a chair. In the event of any vacancy on the board, the city council
shall appoint a person to fill the vacancy. (3) The members of the board shall serve for three-year

Section 45-8A-130.04 Civil Service Board - Creation; composition. (a) There is hereby created
the Civil Service Board of the City of Weaver, which shall be composed of three members, appointed
by the Calhoun County Legislative Delegation. The following groups shall each submit the names

Section 45-39A-13.02 Composition of civil service board. The civil service board shall consist
of five members to be appointed by the members of the City Council of the City of Florence.
In each year the city council shall appoint one person as the successor to the member of the
civil service board whose term shall expire that year. The person so appointed shall hold
office for a term of five years from and including the first Tuesday after the first Monday
of April of the year and until his or her successor shall be appointed and qualify for office.
