Section 45-8A-23.051 Statement of candidacy. For the 1984 election and all subsequent elections candidates shall file statements of candidacy at the same times and in the same manner as provided by law in respect to municipal elections in cities of this state which have a population of its size according to the latest federal decennial census for cities not organized under a commission form of government. No person shall file a statement of candidacy for more than one position on the council unless a previous statement of candidacy is withdrawn by him or her and a subsequent statement of candidacy otherwise qualifies under the provisions of this section.
