Section 45-17-234 Contracts for service of process; fees; Sheriff's Civil Process Fund. (a) The Sheriff of Colbert County, except for warrants for arrest, may contract with or enter into contract or agreement with a private, public, or governmental entity for the purpose of service of process. Nothing in this section should be construed as conflicting with the provisions of Rule 4.1 (b)(2) of the Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure. (b)(1) In addition to all existing charges, fees, judgments, and costs of court, the clerk, sheriff, or other appropriate court official in the civil division of the District and Circuit Courts of Colbert County shall increase the fees by twelve dollars fifty cents ($12.50) per document personally served by the sheriff's office, or its designee. Section 45-43-242 Sale, distribution, or delivery of malt or brewed beverages to retailers. (a) The Lowndes County Commission is hereby authorized to levy a privilege or license tax on all persons, firms, and corporations, selling, distributing, or delivering to retailers in Lowndes County, any malt or brewed beverages including beer, lager beer, ale, porter, or similar fermented malt liquor containing one-half of one percent or more of alcohol by volume, which tax shall be in an amount equal to one cent ($.01) on each 12 fluid ounces or fractional part thereof, sold or distributed within the county, including that sold or distributed within all municipalities located in the county. (a) A person who willfully violates Section 8-6-3 or Section 8-6-4, upon conviction, shall be guilty of a Class C felony.
