Section 16-33C-3 Definitions. The following terms as used in this chapter shall have the meanings
ascribed to them, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ABLE PROGRAM. The Achieving
a Better Life Experience Program established pursuant to this chapter and defined in Section
529A of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or other applicable federal law, to
assist individuals and families to save private funds to support individuals with disabilities
to maintain health, independence, and quality of life. (2) ABLE SAVINGS ACCOUNT. An individual
ABLE trust fund account established by a contributor pursuant to this chapter to apply distributions
from the account toward qualified disability expenses for an eligible designated beneficiary,
both terms as defined in Section 529A of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or

Section 45-49A-63 Definitions. As used in this part, the following words and terms shall have
meanings as follows: (1) ANNUITY STARTING DATE. The first day for which a benefit is payable
as an annuity or any other form under Section 45-49A-63.80. (2) BENEFICIARY. The person or
persons named by a member by written designation filed with the board to receive payments
under this plan after the member's death. The member may not change his or her beneficiary

Section 45-37-123.103 Death benefits. (a) Preretirement death benefits. A vested member's beneficiary
is entitled to a preretirement joint survivorship pension, as described below. (1) MARRIED
MEMBER. If a married, active member dies, then the beneficiary may elect, on a form provided
by the pension board, to be paid in one of the following forms: a. One Hundred Percent Preretirement
Joint Survivorship Pension. If such member was eligible for a deferred retirement benefit

Section 43-2-843 Transactions authorized for personal representatives; exceptions. Except as
restricted or otherwise provided by the will or by an order of court and subject to the priorities
stated in Section 43-8-76, a personal representative, acting prudently for the benefit of

Section 30-4-17 Revocation of certain transferable interests in property upon divorce or annulment.
(a) In this section, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) DISPOSITION OR APPOINTMENT
OF PROPERTY. Includes a transfer of an item of property or any other benefit to a beneficiary
designated in a governing instrument. (2) DIVORCE or ANNULMENT. Any divorce or annulment,
or any dissolution or declaration of invalidity of a marriage, that would exclude the spouse
as a surviving spouse within the meaning of Section 43-8-252. A decree of separation that
does not terminate the status of husband and wife is not a divorce for purposes of this section.
