Section 16-25-9 Certain school bus drivers, mechanics and maintenance workers - Generally.
(a) All fully budgeted school bus drivers (excluding students), mechanics and maintenance
workers not now covered by the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama or Employees' Retirement
System of Alabama, who are employed by any county or city board of education or the governing
board of any public school in Alabama regardless of the source from which and the manner in
which their salaries are paid, may become members of the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama;
provided, that such persons elect within six months after October 2, 1971, to accept the benefits
of this chapter. Such persons may signify their desire to become members of the Teachers'
Retirement System by enrolling through their employer and the Secretary-Treasurer of the Teachers'
Retirement System within said six months' period. Any person hereafter employed in these positions

Section 16-47A-8 Board of Trustees - Vacancies; appointments. (a) Any vacancy in the
office of trustee occurring during a recess of the Legislature shall be filled by appointment
of the Governor. The appointee shall hold office until the next session of the Legislature,

created; director; staff. (a) The State Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board is created
as an autonomous agency of the state government. (b) There is created the Department of Child
Abuse and Neglect Prevention which shall operate under the State Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention

of members. (a) The personnel officer shall notify all classified employees that nominations
for membership on the board will be accepted for a period of 10 days from that date and instructing
all interested classified employees to submit nominations to the personnel officer of the
sheriff's office within that period. Nominations shall be limited to persons who are merit

Section 45-8A-21 Anniston City Board of Education. (a) A school board as established
by the City of Anniston, Alabama, shall be called "The Anniston City Board of Education."
The board shall be composed of one member being elected from each of the wards in the city
as defined in this section by a majority of the qualified electors voting who reside
in each of the wards, and one member elected citywide. (b) The initial school board districts
