Section 41-9-62 Claims within jurisdiction of board generally; employees of municipalities,
counties, etc., not within jurisdiction of board, etc. (a) The Board of Adjustment shall have
the power and jurisdiction and it shall be its duty to hear and consider: (1) All claims for
damages to the person or property growing out of any injury done to either the person or property
by the State of Alabama or any of its agencies, commissions, boards, institutions or departments,
with the exception of claims by employees of the state for personal injury or death arising
out of the course of employment with the State of Alabama, where such employees are covered

Section 45-28A-40 Compensation. Effective at the expiration of the present term of office of
the municipal board of commissioners, the salary of the mayor or chair of the board of commissioners
shall be thirty-two thousand one hundred dollars ($32,100) per annum and the salary of each
associate commissioner shall be twenty-eight thousand eight hundred ninety dollars ($28,890)
per annum. Beginning in 1983 and ending in 1985, there shall be a seven percent annual increase
in salary for such commissioners. This salary shall be in lieu of all salaries, expense allowances,
emoluments, or other types of compensation heretofore granted; provided, however, that in
addition to the salary provided by this section such members shall be entitled to reimbursement
for actual expense incurred by them in performance of their official duties. The salaries

Section 45-5A-70 Election of board of education; referendum. (a)(1) Pursuant to Amendment 659
to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, and as soon as practicable after final approval of
this section by the United States Department of Justice, if necessary, the Oneonta City Council
shall call an authorizing referendum election, to be held at the time of the next general
election held in the city on November 7, 2000, regarding changing the Oneonta City Board of

Section 16-25-9 Certain school bus drivers, mechanics and maintenance workers - Generally.
(a) All fully budgeted school bus drivers (excluding students), mechanics and maintenance
workers not now covered by the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama or Employees' Retirement
System of Alabama, who are employed by any county or city board of education or the governing
board of any public school in Alabama regardless of the source from which and the manner in
which their salaries are paid, may become members of the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama;
