Section 45-38-81.46 Special indexing fee. Thirty days after May 13, 1993, a special indexing and recording fee of five dollars ($5) shall be paid to the judge of probate with respect to each real property instrument and each personal property instrument that may be filed for record in the office of the judge of probate and for the recording of other instruments and documents in the probate office in the discretion of the judge of probate of the county, and, on and after that date no instrument shall be received for record in the office of the judge of probate unless the special indexing and recording fee of five dollars ($5) is paid thereon. Section 45-8-22 Special licenses; additional taxes; maintenance of records. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, other than the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, to sell at retail in Calhoun County any spirituous or vinous liquors without first obtaining a special license from the judge of probate that shall be in addition to all other licenses required by law. (a) Pursuant to the authority granted by Amendment 380 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901 and subsection (d) of Section 12-19-90, in Chambers County, an additional recording fee of ten dollars ($10) shall be paid to the county and collected by the judge of probate. (a) The Legislature finds and declares the following: (1) In Chambers County there has been an increase in the filing of cases involving mental health involuntary commitments resulting in increased probate court docket filing and other duties prescribed by the courts and the Legislature.
