Section 45-28-230 Employees. (a) In Etowah County, each employee of the office of the sheriff designated by the sheriff shall receive a uniform maintenance allowance in the amount of forty dollars ($40) per month. (b) In addition to any other compensation provided by law, each employee who is engaged in hazardous duties shall be paid, upon certification of the sheriff to the county commission that the employee performs hazardous duties, the amount of sixty dollars ($60) per month. (c) All allowances and compensation paid under the provisions of this section shall be paid out of such funds and in the same manner as other compensation to such deputy sheriffs is paid.
