Section 45-26-72 Election. (a) The organization and composition of the County Commission of Elmore County is altered to comply with this section. The governing body shall continue to be known as the County Commission of Elmore County and shall have and exercise all of the powers, duties, limitations, and responsibilities conferred upon it by the general laws of Alabama relating to county commissions insofar as they are consistent with this section. For the purpose of transacting official business, a quorum shall consist of three commissioners. (b) Each member of the Elmore County Commission shall represent a separate district. Only the qualified electors residing in a district may vote to elect the commissioner representing the respective district. No person shall be eligible as a candidate for county commissioner unless he or she is a bona fide resident of the district he or she seeks to represent.
